Gasket sheeting is the flat material from which flange gaskets are cut. Anchor Seals Inc. stocks three families: compressed non-asbestos sheet for general and steam service, PTFE based sheet for aggressive chemical and sanitary service, and rubber elastomer sheet for water, air, and low-pressure joints. Each product page includes a specification table with temperature, pressure, and media limits by grade, and every material can be cut to size in our gasket shop.

Compressed
Compressed Non-Asbestos Gasket Sheeting
Aramid and synthetic fiber sheet bonded with NBR, SBR, or other elastomers. The workhorse gasket material for flanged joints in water, steam, oils, fuels, and mild chemical service.

What is compressed non-asbestos gasket sheeting?
Compressed non-asbestos sheet is made from aramid, glass, carbon, or other synthetic fibers bonded under heat and pressure with an elastomer binder such as NBR or SBR. It replaced compressed asbestos sheet and is the standard choice for general purpose flanged joints handling water, steam, oils, fuels, and mild chemicals.
How do I choose between compressed, PTFE, and rubber sheet?
Match the material to the media, temperature, and pressure. Compressed non-asbestos covers most general and steam service. PTFE is the answer for strong acids, caustics, solvents, and sanitary service where nothing can leach into the process. Rubber elastomers suit water, air, and low-pressure joints where the flange faces are rough or uneven and the gasket needs to conform. The specification tables on each product page list temperature and pressure limits by grade.
Can Anchor Seals Inc. cut gaskets from these materials?
Yes. Every sheet material we stock can be cut into customized, pre-cut gaskets in our gasket shop, from standard ring and full-face sizes to irregular shapes. Our Virtek laser scanner can replicate an existing gasket exactly when no drawing is available.
What information do you need to quote a gasket?
Send the material or the service conditions (media, temperature, pressure), the flange size and pressure class or the gasket dimensions, the thickness, and the quantity. For non-standard shapes, a drawing, a sample, or a photo with dimensions is enough for us to quote.
What thicknesses are available?
Most compressed and PTFE sheet is stocked in 1/32, 1/16, and 1/8 inch, with rubber sheet available in a wider range of thicknesses. Thinner gaskets generally seal better and handle higher pressure, so use the thinnest gasket that will still take up flange irregularities.

Yes. Anchor Seals Inc. is a master distributor for Teadit and Garlock gasket materials and can supply other manufacturers on request. Ask us to cross-reference an existing grade to an in-stock equivalent.
