Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

All Gasket Sheeting

When should I use rubber sheet instead of compressed fiber sheet?

Rubber sheet suits low pressure flanges, rough or uneven faces, and joints that need a soft, conforming seal, such as water, air, and HVAC connections. Compressed fiber and graphite sheets are the choice once pressure, temperature, or bolt load climbs.

Which rubber style is right for oil service?

Styles 4513, 4613, 4713, and 4813 are commercial grade oil resistant rubbers for oil, water, and salt joints, and Style 4614 covers oil and gas. For hot fuels and hydrocarbon process fluids, step up to Style 4615, which resists compression set at high temperature.

Do you have a food grade rubber?

Yes. Style 3613 is a commercial grade rubber for FDA applications. Send us the service conditions and we will confirm it fits and cut the gaskets.

Can you cut diaphragms and irregular shapes?

Yes. Style 9613 diaphragm rubber and every other style on this page can be cut to a drawing, a sample, or dimensions in the Anchor Seals Inc. gasket shop.
