Teflon Expansion Joints
Style 1112 and Style 1113 Teflon expansion joints: solid molded PTFE flexible couplings with plated ductile iron flanges for piping, chemical processing, and HVAC systems, in sizes from 1 inch to 8 inch ID and temperatures from -300°F to +400°F.
Style 1112 and Style 1113 are concentric spool type flexible couplings with a fluorocarbon resin PTFE body, plated ductile iron flanges, polyethylene covered restriction bolts, and corrosion resistant reinforcing rings. Solid molded Teflon makes them light weight and corrosion resistant, and the design reduces noise while compensating for expansion, contraction, and minor piping misalignment.
Specially designed to withstand higher pressures and temperatures, they serve piping systems, chemical processing, and air conditioning and heating systems. Both styles are available silicone free.

Frequently Asked Questions
All Expansion JointsWhat is the difference between Style 1112 and Style 1113?
Both share the same PTFE body, ductile iron flanges, and restriction bolts. Style 1112 is the higher pressure coupling, rated 178 psi at 50°F and 65 psi at 400°F, with up to 1/2 inch of axial movement. Style 1113 trades pressure for flexibility, rated 132 psi at 50°F and 42 psi at 400°F, with up to 1-1/8 inch of axial movement and 9/16 inch of transverse deflection.
Why does the pressure rating drop with temperature?
PTFE softens as it heats, so the body can hold less pressure at higher temperatures. Use the pressure and vacuum rating table to check the working pressure at your actual operating temperature, not at ambient.
What do the restriction bolts do?
The polyethylene covered restriction bolts limit how far the joint can extend under pressure so the PTFE body is never over stretched. The maximum restriction bolt setting in the movement tables is the longest face to face dimension the bolts should allow.
Where are Teflon expansion joints used?
Piping systems, chemical processing, and air conditioning and heating systems where the media would attack rubber, or where a non contaminating, corrosion resistant coupling is required. They are specially designed to withstand higher pressures and temperatures than standard PTFE couplings.
