New England Braiding Company
The New England Braiding Company line from Anchor Seals Inc.: PTFE Hydropacking, aramid, graphite, carbon, exfoliated graphite, metallic, and Vibradamp and Chemstop resilient core packings, all built on the INTERLOCK ANTI-KEYSTONE braid for pumps, agitators, valves, and pulp and paper equipment.
New England Braiding Company packings are built on the INTERLOCK ANTI-KEYSTONE braid, a construction that keeps the packing square under compression so it seats evenly, resists extrusion, and does not roll or keystone in the box. The line runs from FDA approved PTFE for food equipment to pure graphite filament for boiler feed pumps and 5000°F non-oxidizing service.
Anchor Seals Inc. stocks more than 30 NEB styles across eleven families. Use the jump links below to move between families, then send us the media, temperature, shaft or stem size, and box dimensions. We cross-reference existing styles and supply spools or pre-cut rings.

Frequently Asked Questions
All Mechanical PackingsWhat is INTERLOCK ANTI-KEYSTONE braid?
Ordinary braided packing tends to keystone, deforming into a wedge shape as the gland is tightened, which leaves the ring sealing on its corners. The INTERLOCK ANTI-KEYSTONE construction interbraids the yarns so the ring stays square under compression, seats evenly against the shaft and bore, and resists extrusion. Every NEB braided style uses it.
What is the difference between Vibradamp and Chemstop packing?
Both are resilient core packings: a standard NEB yarn braided over an elastomer core so the ring springs back against a vibrating or run out shaft. Vibradamp uses red silicone (or food grade Buna-N in Style 110-PB) for mild service. Chemstop uses black AFLAS cores for corrosive service where contamination is a concern.
Which NEB style should I use for a paper mill stock pump?
Style 104 Bumblebee Packing is the general service pulp and paper packing for liquors, caustics, and stock. For high speed or non-contaminating service move to the PTFE Hydropacking styles 274 or 102, and for vibrating or unstable shafts use the resilient core 104-SC or 274-SC.
Do you cross-reference other packing brands to New England Braiding?
Yes. Send us the style number you use today along with the media, temperature, and shaft or stem size, and we will identify the equivalent NEB style and quote it by the spool or as pre-cut rings.
